Cool Sights Everywhere in Edicott Arm Alaska
Our first view of Alaska on the Disney Magic Cruise ship was in Edicott Arm Alaska. I woke up early as I’m terrible at adjusting to time zones. And that I wake up as soon as the sun rises. I stood on the veranda and was completely awestruck by the snow-covered peaks along the water. I have seen snow peaks, but in the Andes, Alps, and Rockies. All far from the ocean. This juxtaposition was unbelievable. My wife and I went to get breakfast before standing on the deck watching the glaciers, snow, waterfalls, and large pieces of floating ice. The night before while listening to an Irish Band, we saw some whale tails breaching and blow-hole spots from the distance. But today we saw many more whales, dolphins, otters, and seals. This is, in my opinion, the very best way to spend our 23rd wedding anniversary.
Pictures of sea life from the fourth deck of a cruise isn’t very impressive. At least not to me. Instead I spent most of the day taking pictures of the landscape. There were cool sights everywhere in Edicott Arm Alaska.
This cruise on the Disney Magic is a very geeky milestone. We have now cruised on all of the US based Disney ships. Magic & Wonder, Dream & Fantasy, and Wish, Treasure & Destiny. Ironically, the first ship built by DCL was the last one that we boarded. Yes, we definitely want to cruise on the Disney Adventure one day and certainly the Disney Believe when she’s completed. We’re definitely spoiled by living only minutes from Cape Canaveral and a train ride away from Port Everglades.
